BOOK

Pride and Prejudice is the most famous of Jane Austen's novels. It was published for the first time on January 28, 1813 as an anonymous work, without the name of its author. It is one of the first romantic comedies in the history of the novel and its first phrase is one of the most famous in English Literature: it is a universally recognized truth that every single man, possessor of a great fortune, needs a wife.

PERSONAL OPINION

It is a romantic novel, which shows us the relationship of a wealthy man who arrives in the town where the Bennet family lives with their five daughters. The story is told at a time when women were looking for husbands as quickly as possible, to ensure their financial stability.
Jane Austen breaks with the prejudices that existed at that time, the wealthy man had to marry a lady of good manners and whose gestures left nothing to be desired.
Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist and the second daughter of the Bennet, is a girl different from the rest of her sisters, she says what she thinks without waiting for anyone's opinion; Throughout history we see how she allows herself to be led by prejudices and a very wrong idea of Mr. Darcy.
Mr. Darcy is another of the fundamental characters in this story, he is a wealthy arrogant, arrogant and extremely proud, owner of many properties and intimate friend of Mr. Bingley.
The story focuses mostly on the relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, they get carried away by all the prejudices imposed by society, but can also be taken as a criticism of society at that time, which were governed by the same parameters as always.
It is a great story, without doubt a legacy of Jane Austen and a magnificent work of English literature.
